    A: Yes, the compostability test has to be done on the full packaging system (lidding and bottom web, residue coffee and capsule's body).
    Q: Does the material run on all the packaging / filling machines? Which type of capsule can be used?
    A: Typically PLA-based capsules, but also other compostable polymers could be suitable.

    The materials can run on a Vertical Form Fill Seal Machine(VFFS), a Horizontal Form Fill Seal Machine(HFFS), a Pouch Filling Machine, or Liquid Filling machinery. There are newer machines on the market that are versatile and can run a wide array of formats including pouches and quad seal.
